The Wainscot Figures: Inheritance of Dust
£24.99
"It was while clearing the effects of a deceased relative—a great-aunt, perhaps, or someone once referred to only as 'that woman in Norfolk'—that the box was found. Not in a cupboard nor attic, but beneath the floorboards of a dressing room that hadn't been entered in decades. Tucked in a hollow between the joists, packed in yellowed paper and twine, was a small wooden crate, unlabelled save for a pencilled inscription in faded handwriting:
'Property of B. Corrigan, 1887 – Do Not Open.'
Of course, it was opened.
Inside were six small porcelain dolls, unnerving in expression, all bearing signs of wear beyond simple age. More curious still, they appeared to be positioned deliberately—as if frozen mid-conversation. The accompanying letter, written in a tight and anxious hand, spoke only of 'inherited sorrow' and warned against separating the figures. There was no explanation, only a line scratched into the back of the page:
'Do not forget them, or they will not forget you.'
Discovered sealed inside an old box beneath the floorboards of a long-abandoned vicarage, The Wainscot Figures are a set of deeply unsettling dolls—each one distinct, hand-distressed, and silent as the grave.
Sold individually or as a complete set, these miniature porcelain horrors are perfect as spirit trigger objects, storytelling props, or simply as disturbing additions to your cabinet of curiosities. They're also perfect for the obvious: a resident family for your haunted doll's house. Each figure bears signs of wear, neglect, and something harder to define—scratched eyes, flaking paint, cracked limbs and an overwhelming sense that they were never meant to be separated.
Collectors are encouraged to complete the family, but if you buy only one, be warned: they do not respond well to long separations.
Each doll is supplied with a rare earth magnet for PK gimmicking—you'll need to attach it yourself to ensure correct polarity for your preferred setup. Placement is simple, and instructions are included.
Available:
- Individually (6 designs) with display stand
- Complete Family Set in aged box with display stands
Please Note:
Due to the nature of their construction and distressing, each Wainscot Figure is unique. Variations in weathering, facial wear, and detailing are intentional and part of their character. As such, the figure you receive may differ slightly from those photographed. Some say this lends them individual personalities; others say it's best not to dwell on such things.
