The Echo Boards - for Vitrum Ostium X

The Echo Boards are a pair of compact spirit slates designed to work seamlessly with Vitrum Ostium X or any switch box capable of handling heavier loads. Built for clean, hands-off reveals, they’re ideal for both close-up and parlour performances where atmosphere matters.

Each set includes a spirit trigger object—a distressed doll’s house figure with scratched-out eyes and a disfigured porcelain face. Whether used passively or integrated into your method, it adds a genuinely unsettling presence and narrative weight to your performance.

Prefer to use your own trigger object? The Echo Boards are also available without the doll—the same high-quality slates, just without the haunted baggage.

Routine Synopsis

A blank slate is placed into one of the black velvet bags and sealed inside a switch box—such as Vitrum Ostium X—with the lid closed. The box is then reopened to reveal a glass window through which the slates inside the bag can be seen at all times.

The spectator is invited to select a spirit trigger object, hoping to entice interaction from a restless presence. They choose one of the dolls, which is placed inside the box alongside the bagged slates.

The séance begins.

At a chosen moment, the performer asks if the spirit wishes to communicate using the slate. The box is opened. The slate is removed from the bag.

A mysterious message now appears on both sides of the slate.

The box, the bag, and the contents were in full view the entire time.
