Doppelganger - The Two Wise Monkeys by Prof BC
£349.00
At last, the Doppelgänger accessory that has been most often suggested and encouraged is here. Professor BC announces a Lebanon Circle Magic exclusive: The Two Wise Monkeys.
In 1631, René Descartes (famous for saying Cogito ergo sum, “I think, therefore I am”) expounded his notion of the two wise monkeys, or the wise monkey twins. Given enough time, Descartes proposed, two wise monkeys could predict the future in precise detail.
The Two Wise Monkey bookends were originally produced in the late-nineteenth / early-twentieth century in honour of René Descartes. They represent his wise monkey twins, signifying Vita (Life) and Mors (Death), and suggest le dichotomie d'existence (the duality of Being).
Not only will you soon have gorgeous Art Nouveau-era bookends to frame your collection of magic (or collectable) books, but with these bookends you also have a powerful and bewildering effect—or rather a stunning finale for any effect (not only books) where a genuinely randomised selection (not a force) is required or desired.
Descartes spent years trying to decipher the so-called Euclidian Progression and found that at least part of the answer lay in the theories of Pythagoras.
These bookends demonstrate that detailed work and, with the Two Wise Monkeys, you unlock your spectator’s most secret thoughts for a striking finale to any presentation. No forces, no stooges, no electronics, no memory work, no impression devices, nothing written down (ever), just another Professor BC old-school device with a hidden-in-plain-view secret. If you can tell your right from your left (and, frankly, even if you cannot), you can perform The Two Wise Monkeys.
You will receive two substantial, 3.5 lb (1.6 kg) bookends of cold-cast bronze-and-silver and ‘one of those’ Professor BC performance manuals giving you complete instruction as well as ideas for using the bookends with everything from a Doppelgänger set to a collection of Victorian mortuary implements—leading to an impressive, final revelation of any date, number, or initials secretly imagined (but never written or uttered by anyone until you reveal it at the end of your presentation!)
As with all Doppelganger releases, The Two Wise Monkeys is strictly limited.
