Started in 2010 by Bizarre Magick icon Roni Shachnaey, the weekend event held in the Gothic surrounding of Whitby has become a dark pilgrimage for many adepts involved in this shadowy corner of the performing arts.
Bizarre Magick combines the conjuring of the traditional magician, the methods of mentalism, the myths, legends, and stories of the past in ways that create the closest thing to a real magical experience for the audience. Drawing on all the human senses, Bizarre Magick evokes the mystery and mysticism of our shared collective unconscious and draws us into an experience that creates the belief that deeper, and sometimes darker, forces are at work. The Bizarre Magician is a trickster, an enchanter, a story teller, a reader, and a healer all at the same time, while throughout the performance of Bizarre Magick, any one of these different elements will rise to the surface in ways that simply beguile an audience. Part fact, part fiction, and always deep and moving.
